MICHAEL SPEARS DISCUSSES THE LEGEND OF SITTING BULL

From Executive Producer Leonardo DiCaprio the HISTORY Channel’s Documentary event, SITTING BULL explores the remarkable life and accomplishments of the fiercely brave Lakota Chief.

Executive Produced by Leonardo DiCaprio, narrated by Mo Brings Plenty (“Yellowstone”) and starring Kul Wičaša Lakota actor Michael Spears (“1923”), “Sitting Bull” offers an overarching exploration of the remarkable life and accomplishments of the fiercely brave and humble Lakota chief. In the mid-19th century, as American settlers continued their westward expansion, they began encroaching upon Native territories. Amid this turmoil, a legendary Lakota leader rose to defend his people, their culture, and their way of life.

Unyielding in his resolve, he united Native Nations in an extraordinary alliance, lead them in the historic Battle of Little Bighorn against US Army General George Armstrong Custer, gained worldwide fame with Buffalo Bill Cody, and courageously fought against seemingly impossible odds. Told through expert interviews, dramatic yet authentic scripted sequences, and supplemented by rich archival material, “Sitting Bull’’ details the seminal moments and key figures in Native American history including the Washita Massacre, renowned warrior Crazy Horse, the Battle of Cedar Creek and the Wounded Knee Massacre.

Born in Chamberlain, South Dakota and residing in Montana, Michael Spears is a member of the Kul Wičaša Lakota from the Lower Brulé Sioux Tribe of South Dakota. His first role was in the film "Dances With Wolves" as Otter. Michael went on to appear in "Skins", "Into The West", "Yellow Rock", Cyril Morin's "The Activist", and had a guest role on "Longmire". His recent roles include a cameo in Taylor Sheridan's Western series 1883, a supporting role in season 2 of Reservation Dogs on Hulu, and a supporting role in the series 1923 on Paramount.

YOUR FRIENDS AND NEIGHBOURS - WE GET THE SCOOP FROM THE CAST AND SERIES CREATOR JONATHAN TROPPER

You just never know if you can trust your friends and neighbours!

Make some room on your TV watching schedule for Apple TV+’s new nine-episode series, Your Friends and Neighbours. Already renewed for a second season, “Your Friends & Neighbours,” is from the mind of creator Jonathan Tropper (“See,” “Warrior,” “Banshee”) and stars and is executive produced by Emmy Award-winner Jon Hamm (“Mad Men,” “Fargo”).

After being fired in disgrace, Andrew “Coop” Cooper (Hamm), a hedge fund manager still grappling with his recent divorce, resorts to stealing from the homes of his neighbours in the exceedingly affluent Westmont Village, only to discover that the secrets and affairs hidden behind those wealthy facades might be more dangerous than he ever imagined.

Alongside Hamm, the series also stars Amanda Peet, Olivia Munn, Hoon Lee, Mark Tallman, Lena Hall, Aimee Carrero, Eunice Bae, Isabel Marie Gravitt and Donovan Colan.

“I’ve had this show in my head for years, and making it has been a dream come true,” said creator and executive producer Jonathan Tropper. “It’s been an absolute thrill partnering with Hamm, along with Connie Tavel and Craig Gillespie, to bring it to life. The support from everyone at Apple has been phenomenal, and the fact that they’ve ordered a second season before we aired our first is an incredible validation and a tribute to the work of this stellar cast, as well as the crew, writers, directors and producers who worked so hard to make this show what it is. We can’t wait for everyone to see it.”

“Your Friends & Neighbours” premieres globally on Apple TV+ on Friday, April 11 with two episodes, followed by one new episode weekly through Friday, May 30.

I spoke to series creator Jonathan Tropper along with cast members Amanda Peet, Olivia Munn, Hoon Lee, Mark Tallman, Lena Hall, Aimee Carrero, Eunice Bae, Isabel Marie Gravitt and Donovan Colan.
